About Us

A word counter built by people who count words for a living

WordlyCounter started as a simple frustration: existing word counters were cluttered, slow, or buried under ads before you could even see your count.

Why we built WordlyCounter

Writers, students, editors and marketers check word and character counts dozens of times a day — against essay limits, tweet limits, meta description limits, or a publisher's word count brief. We wanted a tool that answers that question in under a second, with no account, no popups, and no waiting for a page to load.

WordlyCounter counts words, characters (with and without spaces), sentences and paragraphs as you type, and estimates both reading time and speaking time — useful whether you're trimming an essay or timing a speech.

What makes us different

Who uses WordlyCounter

Our users include students checking essay and assignment limits, content writers hitting SEO word-count targets, social media managers trimming captions to character limits, and editors doing a final pass before publishing.
